Strengthening Your Muscles using A Prism® Smart Ball Exercise Ball

By Barbara Day, M.S., R.D.

It’s Christmas time and many are looking for a great gift for your family member who wants to get fit in the new year. A great gift is a Prism® Smart Ball Exercise Ball. I bought one of these balls about 8 years ago at Scheller’s Cycling and Fitness (www.Schellers.com). Scheller’s inflated the ball for me and it is still perfectly inflated. One of the things I like about this particular stability exercise ball is that it has 13 exercises you can do printed right on the ball. In fact, one could do an entire “circuit” workout just checking it off using the ball as a guide.

Prism® Smart Stability Ball Specifics

This exercise ball is great for beginners and those who are more advanced. There are three sizes based on the user’s height: 5’4” and under: 55 cm; 5’5” to 6’: 65 cm; over 6’1” and over 75cm. You can buy this ball on Amazon ($30 to $42) or at your local fitness company.

Prism Smart Stability Ball Versatility

The Prism® Smart Stability Ball is great for a home gym or even at your office. You can use this stability ball for strengthening exercise but also for yoga and Pilates. Some might consider using it as an office chair by using stability muscles to keep you from rolling off.

Durability

The Prism® Stability ball is made using burst-resistant PVC construction making very durable and high quality. I have had this ball for 7 years and I have not had to re-inflate the ball like I have with others I have used over the years. When you purchase the ball, it includes a pump for inflation.
