Excellent Resource for Gluten-Free Menu Choices at Popular Restaurant Chains

I have a number of family members who have been diagnosed with Adult Celiac disease. They need to maintain a gluten-free diet so they don’t suffer from a number gastrointestinal problems after they eat gluten.

I found this website, FastFoodNutrition.org, which lists the Gluten-free menu items from the biggest restaurant chains. My granddaughter is in college and she said this website has been very useful so she knows what is available and she doesn’t have to depend on the server since she eats out a lot. One thing I also like about the gluten free menus the website is the items also include the calorie count for each item. Some restaurants have a separate gluten free menu or starred items on their regular menus which signifies the gluten-free items.

Remember that cross contamination at restaurants can occur. If you have a serious gluten allergy or a diagnosis of celiac disease, make sure you mention it when you order so that the restaurant can take steps to ensure your meal is completely gluten free.

The website, www.FastFoodNutrition.org is not just a website about gluten free items. It offers lots of information about fast food and even lesson plans for schools to teach about picking healthier choices. You can go to each restaurant listed, look for the food you want to order and find out all the nutritional information that you want or need to make a healthy choice before you actually visit the restaurant. Great for some who is watching their waistline!
