Grammy Grizzlies’ Jump Start the Making of a Patriot Child Reading Program

When I first began writing this blog for my Moms for America Grammy Grizzlies’ Facebook Group, American Patriot, Charlie Kirk, with Turning Point USA, had not been assassinated for his America First & Christian beliefs.  Charlie Kirk and Moms for America both stand for Faith, Family and Freedom.

It’s time for grandparents to get off the couch and make sure their grandchildren are being exposed to the GREATNESS OF AMERICA. As grandparents we can begin by stepping up to the bat and create a Patriot Child Reading Program in your community in Charlie’s memory!

Beginning with the 250th Anniversary of the US Army Celebration on June 14, 2025, a year-long celebration of America250 has begun with July 4, 2026 being the ultimate day of celebrating America’s 250 Birthday. https://america250.org/.

Grammy Grizzlies around the country can make a difference

Grammy Grizzlies around the country can make a difference by teaching their grandchildren, children at a day care center, at a pre-school, at a kindergarten, at a local school, at a local library, or at your children by volunteering to read Patriotic Books to our children to prepare them for the America250 Celebration on July 4, 2026.

We need to teach our children about how America was founded, why America was founded and how great America is. If we start with our children at an early age using stories, picture books, songs to help spread the word, hopefully we can create a nation of Patriotic Americans.

Teaching American history to our children is important for a lot of reasons*:

  1. Understanding Identity and Citizenship
  • It helps children understand who they are as Americans, where the nation came from, and how it developed.
  • They learn about the Constitution, democracy, civil rights, and how government works—crucial knowledge for responsible citizenship.
  1. Learning from the Past
  • History provides examples of both success and failure. By studying things like slavery, civil rights, wars, and reform movements, children learn to avoid past mistakes and appreciate the struggles that shaped the nation.
  • It builds empathy by exploring the lived experiences of diverse groups: Native Americans, African Americans, immigrants, women, and others.
  1. Critical Thinking and Informed Decision-Making
  • History teaches students how to analyze sources, evaluate evidence, and ask questions—skills that are useful far beyond the classroom.
  • In a world full of misinformation, history helps kids develop a sense of context and a deeper understanding of current events.
  1. Appreciating Civic Values
  • American history highlights the evolution of freedom, justice, equality, and democracy. Learning about how these values were challenged and defended helps children understand their importance.
  • It also shows how ordinary people have influenced change through civic action.
  1. Building Unity in Diversity
  • American history reveals the contributions of many different groups, helping children appreciate the country’s cultural diversity and shared history.
  • It can help reduce prejudice by fostering a deeper understanding of others’ experiences.
  1. Inspiring the Future
  • Stories of innovation, courage, and leadership—like those of Frederick Douglass, Eleanor Roosevelt, Cesar Chavez, and others—can inspire children to shape the future positively.

In short, teaching American history is not just about memorizing dates—it’s about building informed, thoughtful, and engaged citizens who understand their nation’s past so they can contribute meaningfully to its future.

With that beautifully said by ChatGPT, Grammy Grizzlies Can Make a Difference by teaching young children about US History and how to become patriots at an early age and it’s time to get started.

America250 Celebration

There lots of activities that are being planned for this year of celebration. Many of these events will help to enhance what Grammy Grizzlies will be reading about in our Grammy Grizzlies’ Jump Start the Making of a Patriot Child program.

One activity which will be great for families is America’s Field Trip is a contest that invites students across the country in grades 3–12 to be part of America’s 250th anniversary by sharing their perspectives on what America means to them — with the opportunity to earn an unforgettable field trip experience at some of the nation’s most iconic historic and cultural landmarks. Plus, there are lots of fieldtrips that can be planned around the country to enhance American history.

Grammy Grizzlies can also volunteer in a number of ways to help celebrate America250 leading up to July 4, 2026.
